Jose-Galan-2An archaeological mission from the Spanish National Research Council  (Madrid) has been working in the central area of Dra Abu el-Naga since 2002. Their work started in and around the rock cut tomb-chapels of Djehuty and Hery (TT 11-12) of the early 18th Dynasty. During the last five seasons, they have been excavating part of the necropolis of the 17th and early 18th Dynasty, consisting of mud-brick offering chapels and funerary shafts. Most of them were robbed in antiquity, but still preserved part of the original funerary equipment.
